Planning and Cost Control
The Planning and Cost Control Section provides information about the cost and time of the schedule of works.
This process is carried out through the following reports issued on a regular basis:
· Monthly Planning and Cost Control Report
· Annual Budget Report of the projects
· Tunnel and other Structures Cost Control
· Project cost per section
· Monitoring of time schedules for projects and designs
· Regular informative fiches about the monitoring of the progress of the project
· Reports on physical scope monitoring.
In particular, the monitoring of constructions is carried out through the “Completed System for the Monitoring of Constructions”. Furthermore, this system is applied also during the pre-contractual stage to support the drawing up of tender budgets for new contracts.
The sources of information collected are basically the following: initial cost estimation for design and construction contracts, design and construction time schedules, variation orders and extensions of deadline, payment invoices and measurements.
Basic tools of the Time and Cost Control are the software Primavera Project Management, Primavera Expedition and Excel, which aim at the depiction of time and cost, the regular review of times foreseen, dates, expenditure, taking into consideration conditions and performance of the contractors. Given the experience acquired during the execution of the Egnatia project, this know-how could be successfully used also in other difficult and complicated projects.
