Service Areas – Rest Areas
The Egnatia Motorway serves the mass transportation of people and goods. It is a motorway providing users with safety, comfort and high speeds.
To provide better services to its users, “Egnatia Odos A.E.” has planned and implements the establishment of road-side installations that make long trips more comfortable and pleasant. The positioning of these installations was approved by Law No. 3481/2.8.2006 (attachment 1).
Service Areas provide parking spots for stops or short-term parking of passenger vehicles and trucks, and offer to travellers food, telephone, shopping or sanitary facilities. In Service Areas, road users can also find gas stations to refill their tank, do vehicle maintenance works or have breakdown assistance (attachment 2).
Rest Areas also provide parking spots for stops or short-term parking of passenger vehicles and trucks. They also have open air rest areas for travellers, kiosks, green spaces and, in certain cases, road and / or tourist information.
