USEFUL TELEPHONE NUMBERS ALONG THE EGNATIA MOTORWAY
FOUR-DIGIT EMERGENCY NUMBER
 Along the motorway, on sections with many tunnels and bridges, or adverse weather conditions, “Egnatia Odos A.E.” made available to its users a four-digit emergency telephone number. This number is 1077 and road users can call both on their mobile or landline phones. When dialing the number, road users can contact the Traffic Control Centres and ask for help.
To inform users about this number, appropriate signs (see photo) are installed at regular intervals.
The Egnatia Motorway sections served, for the time being, by 1077 are the following (map):

TUNNEL EMERGENCY TELEPHONES
On Egnatia Motorway sections with tunnels, emergency telephones (SOS) are installed, which are connected to staffed Traffic Control Centres operating on a 24-hour basis.
These telephones are placed:
at tunnel entrances in special semi-closed booths, and
 
EMERGENCY TELEPHONES AT TUNNEL ENTRANCES
inside tunnels at 50m intervals within cabinets or special closed booths
  
EMERGENCY TELEPHONES INSIDE TUNNELS
Emergency telephone in an emergency cabinet inside a tunnel SOS telephone positions are indicated by special signs.
Devices are vandal-proof (with or without a receiver) and bear three buttons. Any button pushed takes the call to the competent Traffic Control Centre.
