Being the Owner of the Project, EGNATIA ODOS AE believes that taking and adhering to every possible measure for the protection of each worker's occupational Health and Safety, as well as for the protection against damage or destruction of material goods that might be caused by the implementation and maintenance of the projects managed by the company, is equally important to any other company activity.
The effective management of issues pertaining to Occupational Health and Safety constitutes one of the basic strands in the fabric of EGNATIA ODOS AE activities.
Within this context, it is of critical importance to enhance communication in matters concerning Occupational Health and Safety and full comprehension of roles and responsibilities assigned to each employee. This will allow the promotion of values and beliefs, such as:

Although the primary responsibility for the effective implementation of the Occupational Health and Safety Policy in EOAE lies with the company administration, we all have the obligation to ensure a safe working environment.
It is important that each one of EOAE cooperates is capable of contributing to developing the management of the Occupational Health and Safety system according to his/her workplace requirements. However, in order to ensure a uniform approach, it is important to establish a general framework that will integrate all necessary improvements that aim at the overall upgrading of OH&S in EGNATIA ODOS AE.
Occupational Health and Safety Management System
EOAE implements an Occupational Health and Safety Management System, which prescribes all administrative, organisational and operational prevention measures and means required in each phase of the company activities.
All employees and other parties involved in EOAE activities must be aware of the OH&S Management System requirements and always bear in mind that they are responsible not only for their own safety but also for the safety of others.
EGNATIA ODOS AE personnel training
During the induction and initial information of the newly-hired personnel, the Manager of Human Resources & Management Support informs the new employees that the company Intranet and, in particular, the Health & Safety Unit website hosts information that, inter allia, include the following:

Each Manager should ensure that his/her team members participate in OH&S training courses suitable for their needs. In addition, a special OH&S training course has been planned for the members of the company construction management units in order for them to be able to prevent the possible hazards that may occur at the construction or maintenance sites. Any further educational needs, as far as OH&S is concerned, are recorded by the Managers of each Department.
Communication
All EGNATIA ODOS AE employees work together to promote OH&S matters.
They also cooperate with the personnel of other companies (Designers, Construction Contractors, Sub-Contractors, Construction Managers, etc) or other competent public services (Labour Inspection) involved in the project of EGNATIA ODOS AE to promote good working practices and, in general, improve OH&S conditions.
The employees of EGNATIA ODOS AE have set up an Occupational Health and Safety Committee, pursuant to Law 1568/85, which works with the company Administration, the Health & Safety Unit and the Occupational Physician.
The Health & Safety Unit, in cooperation with the Regional Offices’ and Contractors’ Safety Engineers, is constantly alert to prevent accidents and occupational diseases.
